Anxiety.
Worry that is hard to switch off and gets in the way of school, work, sleep or family life.
What it can look like
- Worry
- Avoidance
- Stomachaches
- Perfectionism
- Sleep
- Reassurance
In children, anxiety often looks physical and behavioral before it looks like worry: stomachaches on school mornings, meltdowns over homework, refusing to try new things, asking the same question again and again. In teens and adults it can be constant worry, perfectionism, procrastination and trouble sleeping. Anxiety also affects attention and learning; it is sometimes mistaken for ADHD, or hides a learning problem underneath. An evaluation shows how anxiety and learning are interacting.
Getting started
Start with a phone consultation. We assess anxiety as part of a comprehensive evaluation, so you understand what is driving it and what kind of support, at school and beyond, would help.
Rates vary based on the level of involvement. Contact us for a phone consultation.
